Jed Pulley |
Hello, my name's Jedediah Pulley, but I typically
just go by Jed.
It's easier to say once you know it, but I swear that
people have never heard the name before. I figured
monosyllabic names were some of the easiest to get
right, but I guess I was wrong.
Introductions usually go along these lines -
"Hi, nice to meet you, my name's Jed."
"Jim, was it?"
"It's actually Jed, but I get that a lot."
"Well it's nice to meet you Jay." ".... Nice to meet you, too." I think I've been called every one syllable name in
the book. But I don't honestly mind it. I know my name
and I like it a lot, it's unique. I've actually only
ever meet two Jeds in my entire life. But the only
person who I've seen spells it the same as I do is a
newscaster on Fox and Friends, a woman named Jedediah
Bila. I never heard it used as a girls name before,
but hey, I guess Jed's are pretty multifaceted!
I got my name from arguably the most famous Jed,
Jedediah Strong Smith. I'm a Christian as are my
parents, but it's actually the one name out of my many
siblings that wasn't derived from the Bible itself.
I'm very fond of my name and my namesake, and I could
only hope to be as epic as him. But as it stands, I'm
content just to be a Jed. Currently I'm in college
living the "not-yet-real-life" gig and it's going
really well. I'm studying Computer Science and I
thoroughly enjoy it.
Best wishes and God bless to all the other Jeds out
there.
Jed Pulley
