Hi Jed, I was just putzing
around on the web, when just for the
hell of it I put jed.com up there as I am a jed. William Jedidiah
Munford to be exact, but it's really just Jed.
I have only met one other person in my 21 years who goes by Jed, a
kid I went to summer camp with when I was 12, and you have compiled 71
of us, that is amazing.
Well, I just finished reading a
couple of the other Jed's posts to our
site (can I call it our site, a site for all Jeds?) and maybe this will
fit in.
I am a twenty-one year old Jed living in Atlanta Georgia. I was
born and raised in Kentucky and of course I heard all those people who
thought themselves so original when they busted out with the "little
story
'bout a man named Jed" lyrics, for awhile there I believe that The
Beverly
Hillbillies was a show sent from on high to punish me, and me alone,
for
until I was 12 I had never met another sould (sp?) to go by Jed.
Now I have happened on a full web site of them. Not that I don't
like my name, to be honest I adore it; I just wish that I would have
realized
that as a child when a name like that can cause considerable social
trauma.
I was the given the name William Jedidiah Munford by my dad, and
I happen to be the youngest of three and the only one my mom let my
dad name. . . Instead of calling me by Will, or Billy or anything else
like that, they saddled me with the nickname of Jed which I think
has definitely influenced my personality and how I developed into an
Adult.
Since reaching a somewhat more mature age (more mature than a 6 yo
at least) I have come to truly love my name, as it is hard to
forget
and I've been told that it is as memorable as I am. (I am 6'03" with
red
hair and several piercings and tattoos)
Thanks for setting up this site where all the Jeds of the world can
meet in a virtual forum, we all appreciate it.
JEDS OF THE WORLD UNITE
peace,
jed
munford
